Job Title: Assistant Director (AD)

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Director (AD) with 3–4 years of production experience to help manage and coordinate the daily operations of our film, television, or stage projects. As the AD, you will serve as the director’s right hand — ensuring everything runs smoothly on set, from scheduling to cast movement and crew coordination.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining order, staying on schedule, and making sure the director’s vision is executed efficiently and safely.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the director with pre-production planning and logistics

  • Prepare and distribute daily call sheets and shooting schedules

  • Coordinate on-set activities, including cast and crew calls

  • Manage time efficiently to ensure the shoot stays on schedule

  • Act as the liaison between the director and other departments

  • Ensure that health, safety, and COVID-19 protocols (if applicable) are followed

  • Cue actors and background performers during takes

  • Troubleshoot on-the-spot challenges to minimize delays

  • Supervise rehearsals and technical run-throughs

  • Maintain a calm, organized set environment during filming or performances


Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience as an Assistant Director or in a similar production role

  • Strong understanding of production workflows (film, TV, or theater)

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and time-management skills

  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

  • Knowledge of production scheduling tools and script breakdowns

  • Familiarity with union rules, permits, and set protocols

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work long and flexible hours, including weekends or evenings

  • Degree in Film, Theater, Media, or related field is a plus


Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required)

  • First Aid or Safety Training

  • Experience working with SAG-AFTRA / Equity productions

  • Working knowledge of software like Movie Magic Scheduling, StudioBinder, or Celtx

  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills
